The oldest memory I have is wandering away from my great grandmother’s nursing home room at age three to sit bedside talking about life with a 90 year old man named Mr Bird. He was my friend. I felt his warmth. At three years old I knew how vital it IS to put ourselves near experience in this life. Listening to the stories of others, with wonder and curiosity is what helps us connect to the love that helps us thrive.

Storytelling and people are still important to me. I've seen magic happen when connecting the dots of mystery and resilience in the stories of others. As a hairstylist, I’ve seen it more than ever in the years following the pandemic lockdowns.

I know that no matter your age or income or what you’ve been through in life, you will feel completely connected to a total stranger whose story resonates with you, even if it’s totally different from your own. When we slow down and get to know the people who we wouldn’t normally talk or listen to, we find a middle ground: a place where love dwells, and magic happens.
